Rockets
We will be blasting our rockets this Friday at the Burlington High School. (weather permitting) We will start blasting at 9:00 a.m. We hope you can join us!!!

Rockets
I could still use a few volunteers for building rockets on October 13th and 14th. I would need you from 10:30 - 11:30. Please let me know if you can help out!!!
A notice will be sent home soon about Rocket Day on October 21st. I will also be looking for parents to join us for this event.
YOU MUST HAVE A CORI ON FILE AT THE SUPERINTENDENT'S OFFICE TO VOLUNTEER!!!!

Science Learning Expectations
Physical Science
•
Understand that the sun is the ultimate source of energy and that energy can be transferred from one type to another.

Energy can be observed as heat, light, electrical, sound, chemical and nuclear and can be observed as kinetic or potential.

Study how forces act on objects. A force is needed to move an object.
•
Understand the force of friction can effect the movement of objects.

Learn about how planes and birds fly based on the similar shape of their wings.

Study weather and record the day-to-day changes using real weather instruments.

Learn about the parts of the earth and its surface changes created by earthquakes, volcanoes and erosion.
Technology and Engineering

Design an invention using the design process.
•
Understand that there are six simple machines that help make work easier.
